1. Will I be able to keep up?
Yes, all of our classes are designed with a progressive development philosophy. You will be grouped with people who will help you grow, not hinder you, and you will be taught techniques that you can handle at your level.
2. Do I have to compete?
Absolutely not; the majority of people train for fun or fitness, not to compete. In our experience, most people will end up competing at least once when they are ready.
3. Do I have to buy gear?
Eventually yes. But until then [such as during your trial], we have gear for you to take class with. Once you decide to buy your own gear, you will find the cost to be a minimal investment.

As a Jiu Jitsu Middletown CT Practitioner, You’ll Find Social Connection
It's no secret that humans need to feel a sense of belonging and community. Social connections fulfill this need by creating relationships where individuals feel appreciated, accepted, and included. Belonging to a community gives individuals a sense of identity and purpose, fostering a positive self-image and overall well-being. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great way to find a community of fellow like-minded friends.
You'll find a culture of mutual respect and trust in training as practitioners learn to apply techniques safely during sparring sessions. This emphasis on respect and trust builds a foundation for solid connections among practitioners as they develop confidence in each other's abilities and conduct themselves with integrity on and off the mat. Furthermore, in most training centers, you'll find practitioners gathering and bonding off the mat as well. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is usually practiced in pairs. Practitioners partner up for sparring sessions, which help them practice their technique. Frequently, training partners develop deep friendships, fostering an environment characterized by support and motivation. This sense of belonging and friendship dramatically enhances the overall quality of life for those practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
